Halo Franchise
It all started with Halo: Combat Evolved and ended with Halo 3.
With the release of the second and third Halo, each trying to fix a problem or area that lacked in the previous game, we finally received a wonderful Halo 3.
Halo 1:
The first Halo game was a hit when it came out in 2001. I heard that it was a great game and once I got my Xbox I picked it up for myself. I am not one of those Halo fanatics that would stay up all night to beat the game or play with their friends, I honestly (like most games I play) did not keep up with the story line and I skipped all the cinematics, I just wanted to get to the action. Halo: Combat Evolved was definitely a great game. Although to me there was an obvious lack of variety with respect to the enemy, however was made up with smart AI and humorous commentary by the aliens. The flood was definitely a relief, when I seen them I instantly got out my shotgun and went to town.
I honestly could not tell you how the game ended I think something to do with the destruction of the Halo, but don’t hold me to it.
Weapons:
Pistol (with zoom, I miss it)
Assault Rifle
Shotgun
Sniper
Rocket Launcher
Plasma Pistol
Plasma Rifle
Needler
Plasma Sword (Untouchable)
Fuel Rod Gun (Untouchable)
Plasma Grenade (Haha sticking is fun)
Frag Grenade
Vehicles: (Pilot able)
Warthog (Machine-gun mount)
Scorpion
Ghost
Banshee

Starcraft 2: Battle Reports
Before I get to talking about Starcraft 2 specifically, a new feature on the Starcraft 2 website are battle reports. This is just what I have been needing while waiting for Starcraft 2, anybody who does not know what Starcraft is probably isn't that into gaming. Starcraft to me was one of the best Strategy RTS games in my opinion to have ever come out, and I hope Starcraft 2 will uphold that image for me. I'll save that talk however for a later post, for now lets talk battle reports. I, like many others, have been waiting for something interesting to happen since it has been a little quiet over at the SC2 website for quite some time, I was hoping for a zerg gameplay video (as opposed to the zerg reveal video) but hey this might just beat them all, a fun close up look at Starcraft 2 in action.
Battle Report
The battle report is just like any replay video where you watch two guys fight it out, except this is in Starcraft 2 and there is commentary which can be interesting but also sort of annoying in my opinion when the guy is screaming because one probe survived a marine attack ??? But non the less it makes it more lively.
Battle Report #1 was released a couple days ago, and I had to download it because:
A. It took too long to load while watching
B. Anytime I did something it would start back to the beginning and I would lose my place
C. And finally the thing that threw me over the edge I was in another tab at the same time it was loading and when I go back it was at the index page of starcraft 2 and I had to reload the video from the beginning again.
If you want to check it out and havent go here:
http://www.starcraft2.com/features/battlereports/1.xml
The battle is between Terran and Protoss, pretty fun to watch I think you should check it out.
Else, cant wait for the next one...

Gears Of War 2
Okay for my first post I was going to talk about an older game, but since I have been playing this game and nothing else since I got it, I have to talk about Gears of War 2. I got this game a couple weeks ago and me and a friend of mine can play it for hours on end, I swear the hours fly by when we play. I did not have the privilege to play the first GoW as I just recently have bought an Xbox 360, so everything GoW was new to me on the second one.
Campaign?
At the start of playing we played the campaign like most do, but then I decided it was time to try out something else and see what multiplayer was like, and boy what a surprise. The first thing that hooked us was horde, I tried playing it by myself but for someone new to playing it definitely was not easy doing so and couldn’t even get passed wave 4 (that was a long time ago), so we did 2 player horde and kicked some serious ass. Wave after wave of monsters coming at us, it was awesome. If GoW2 only had multiplayer it would still be worth the cost, to tell you the truth we tried playing campaign again, but was too slow for us after we played so much multiplayer we went right back to horde and warzone.
At first playing the game I wasn’t really sure what to make of it, but after getting used to the controls (sort of, the accidental obstacle grabs still kill me most the time) I began to enjoy it. I am not that big a fan of Xbox Live as I always get my ass handed to me by some kid, so I usually like playing locally by myself or with friends that I know I can beat. To my surprise unlike Halo then you can play multiplayer completely by yourself and instead of fighting your friends you fight the AI, which is usually smart (well sometimes), but well worth the fight. So screw having to wait for my friends to come over, I can kick some monster ass in multiplayer all by myself.
The choices of multiplayer game types is impressive and I like the buddy system in Wingman, where you and your wingman fight up to four other teams with 2 guys as each others wingman. But my friend and I stick to warzone, just for the shear awesomeness of when you die you die, no execution needed no respawns, hardcore. Usually when we play against one another we try and kill each other first because we are usually the best on our team, however sometimes well kill each other and be the only ones dead, waiting for the 5 minute time limit to expire even though we were only in for 30 seconds. You would think our team could suffice without us but a lot of times they are too stupid to even throw a grenade.
Right now this post has gotten longer than I wanted and was going to add my stories, but instead I am going to throw it in a separate post.
To be Continued...
